SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

School Attendance

The Importance of School Attendance Video

Central School District believes that regular attendance plays an important role in student achievement. Children who attend school on a regular basis perform better academically and their opportunities for future success increase.

Compulsory Education law requires children between six and eighteen years of age to attend school, with a limited number of specified exceptions.  Absence from school shall be excused only for reasons as permitted by law, board policy, and administrative regulations.

Central School District will work with parents and guardians and students to ensure their compliance with all state attendance laws and may use appropriate legal means to correct problems of chronic absences and/or truancies.
