2021-22 School Year
Dear Staff, Students, Families, and Community Members,
My name is Dr. Amy Nguyen-Hernandez and I’m thrilled to be joining Central School District as your new Superintendent of Schools. This will be the start of my 25th year in education. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of educating and leading in the roles of teacher, program specialist/literacy coach, assistant principal, principal, director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent.
Last year was uncertain and difficult for our country, state, county, and community. What I am most impressed with is the dedication and commitment of our staff and parents to ensure our CSD students remained the top priority. As evidence by the LCAP feedback survey, with an average agreement of over 94%, our staff, parents, and students agreed that Central School District has a strong academic instructional program, our staff meets the needs of our students, and the district is attentive to the social and emotional needs of our students.
We anticipate there will be additional challenges which we’ll need to face together during this school year, but I would like to assure everyone that we are ready! I’m thankful to the Board of Trustees for their confidence in me and choosing me to join this amazing district. Over time, I strive to build relationships with each of you and gain your trust. We will continue the tradition of excellence which has occurred for over 100 years in this district, while also continuing to progress and embrace ways in which we can remove barriers and create opportunities for our students and staff to grow.
Together we are CSD. Here’s to a wonderful 2021-22 school year!
