In case you missed Mrs. Gaboury's phone message yesterday: Dear Valle Vista Families, This is Mrs. Gaboury with a special back to school message. First, I would like to speak to all of our Valle Vista students. I want you to know that although all of you are starting school from home, all of your teachers and staff at Valle Vista have been busy planning lots activities to make this a terrific year. All you need to do is try your best. Trying your best means getting up on time, eating breakfast and combing your hair and brushing your teeth before you log-in to your class at 8:30 a.m. If you are a p.m. kindergarten student, you will need be ready to log-in to your class at 11:30 a.m. If you have been a Valle Vista hawk for a while, then you know how important it is to try your best, work hard, and to keep trying even when you feel like you are in the learning pit. Don’t get discouraged if online learning seems a little strange at first. Your teachers and all of the Valle Vista staff are here to help you. This next part of my message is for all of the parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and neighbors that are pitching in to help their loved ones be successful with distance learning. I want you to know that we are committed to teaching and supporting your student every step of the way. Since we can’t be physically with them while they are learning, we need your help to make sure they are awake, ready to learn, and able to log-in to their classroom zoom session. Once they are logged in, we will be there to teach them everything they need to know. If they get stuck, or have a question, we will be available to help them. The first couple of weeks, we will be starting slow. We know some of you do not have your devices yet. Our hope is that everyone will be able to zoom with their class at 8:30 every morning. Remember you can zoom from a cell phone or a tablet. If you have any questions or issues, please call the Valle Vista office at (909)981-8697. Thank you for your patience as we work to develop new support systems and to correct issues as they arise. Don’t forget to get up early on Monday so you have time to take the very important first day of school picture. Grab and go lunches will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00-12:30 in the Valle Vista drive through lane. Please bring your child’s student id paper that you received in their back to school bags. Our food service staff will be scanning the barcode, or using your child’s student id number, to keep track of lunch purchases. If any of our families were out of town this week, parents may drive by Monday morning from 7-8:00 a.m. to pick-up your child’s back to school supplies and textbooks. As we make adjustments to our new calling system, please make sure you download our Central School District 91730 app to make sure you are getting all of latest updates from Valle Vista. I hope everyone enjoys their last days of summer vacation and can rest assured knowing that Valle Vista is here to make this an outstanding year full of fun, laughter, and learning. I look forward to popping into lots of classroom zooms on Monday and seeing all of our wonderful Valle Vista Hawks. We have missed you and are so excited to start the school year. Have a great afternoon.
