CMS MUSIC DEPARTMENT GOAL

The goal of our music department is to provide meaningful music education for students, teaching students to play musical instruments proficiently, and to foster a love and lifelong appreciation for music of all kinds.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING 2023 SPRING CONCERTS:

BEGINNING BAND:

  • Mandatory after school rehearsal on Monday May 8 until 3:30pm

  • CONCERT date is Tuesday, May 9 at 7pm in the Nalbach Building.

    • (Students arrive at 6:30pm to Rm. 2, parents can wait in the Nalbach Building)

 

ORCHESTRA:

  • CONCERT date is Tuesday, May 9 at 7pm in the Nalbach Building.

    • (Students arrive at 6:30pm to Rm. 11, parents can wait in the Nalbach Building)

 

INTERMEDIATE BAND AND WIND ENSEMBLE:

  • CONCERT date is Wednesday, May 10 at 7pm in the Nalbach Building.

    • (Students arrive at 6:30pm to Rm. 2, parents can wait in the Nalbach Building)

 

All Performers should wear dress clothes. White, or any light/pastel colors are acceptable for the tops. The top should not have a design/writing on it, and it can have long or short sleeves.  Ties are acceptable.  Performers must also wear nice black bottoms and nice black shoes or shoes that go with the student’s attire.  Girls are permitted to wear dresses/skirts as long as they are below the knee when sitting.  If the skirt does not fall below the knee while sitting, your child may be asked to drape a jacket over her knees.  Dresses can be white, pastel-colored, or black. Please contact me as soon as possible if you need assistance in acquiring concert attire for your child, or by Wednesday May 3 at 3pm.
